It was easy because this book has all the Forms on a CD ROM (included) and you just fill in the blanks. The people at the courthouse were very helpful and we only had to pay for the filing fee and the investigation fee (that's around $800.00 if I remember correctly. Anyway, if you have an ex-spouse who consents to the adoption this is the most affordable way to go. Everything is described in detail and different scenarios are listed. The lawyer we originally went to see wanted $3000.00!!!! And that didn't even include the investigation fee. I couldn't believe it. If anyone is interested I still have this book and I would sell it for $19.00 plus shipping. We bought it for $34.95. Be sure to get the latest edition, because the forms change every few years.
