Does anyone know of the quickest possible way of getting birth certificate of someone who was adopted my step parent? (quick run down of problem....My future husband to be needs to get a passport so that we can go on our honeymoon, which I need to get a copy of his birth certificate in order to do so...problem, I/We requested a BC from the State of California, well, it came back with the wrong DOB on it, and now they have taken a month+ to go back and to find out if his mother changed the DOB or if it was a typographical error, they are STILL not sure...the NEXT problem is, he wants to look at the adoption records, because his mother has been lying about all sorts of different things, and he would like to see the original records...We have been told that we have to get a "court order"...has anyone heard of this? or know how to go about doing it? If someone could give me any info that might help us out, we would really appreciate it :)

I just read about this. This indicates that the original document has been changed. If you were told that you need a court order, it is because the original has been changed and is "sealed." You need a court order to view the sealed document.
