We are currently waiting to be matched with one more baby to complete our family. This will be baby number 4! I had intentions on trying adoptive breastfeeding with our eldest daughter, now 7 but she came to us so quickly that I was totally unprepared and overwhelmed enough at that time! Baby number 2 took a lot longer and so I had lots of time to play around with the idea and instead of starting bc and dom, I just started the herbs and started pumping. Big mistake when there is no baby in sight...I quit when I was in too much pain with no outcome. Our third baby was 3 and a half before she came to us so that wasnt an option. So, now we are here, waiting for baby #4 and I am starting this again, hopefully the right way! I havent been on the pill in 14 years but so far, so good! It has only been 4 days but so far, no side effects of dom or bc!
We shall see what happens from here!

Good luck with that!
I was thinking of just trying the pumping & herbs, but was afraid of exactly what you said - pain & no actual milk. Maybe I should start it the right way instead.

I have heard that that method can work but takes longer to get a supply. I found that I gave up before we even had a baby in sight! This time, I wanted to do it so I had the best chance of things working out.
So far, I have been on the pill for a week and just increased my domperidone dosage today. I feel good abou this method because I dont have to start pumping right away. I am hoping that by the time I do, my body will have me ready for it!
Good luck!
