Isn't that assuming that it's always white parents adopting non-white kids? To me that seems inherently racist.

Ohhh, I suppose it might.....and, at the time of creating these forum titles, I believe most of the adoption talk was about white parents to non-white babies/children.
Over time, I can tell you that most of the discussions have fallen into the African-American adoption forum and the Transracial adoption forum. Most have been AA or seemingly white parents adopting AA or multi-racial babies; but there are families who have adopted Asian or other babies/children too. (As our family has done as well.)
You'll find that most of the traffic for these discussions are in the two I"ve already mentioned. And, as I said, I suppose it might seen inherently racist, but I know it was never meant to be.
Sincerely,
Linny

For the most part, trans racial and transcultural adoption means Caucasian parents adopting children from a different race or country. Its somewhat rare (but starting to become more common) to see a person of color adopting trans racially - especially if the baby is Caucasian baby because of racism and White privilege. We're African American and our daughter is Asian-American and we have only seen a family like ours only once (he was a single African American dad who had adopted two sons from Vietnam and Guatemala).
I agree the title of this does sound inherently racist, but it is true that mostly white parents are adopting the children of other races. There are not many black or other minority parents adopting white children. Also, in the past there have been more healthy black children available for adoption. Good Luck with Adopting!
