Greetings. Thank you for your interest in possibly participating in my project.I am setting out to compile a book of letters written by adoptees to their mothers. Each submission would consist of two letters, one written to your adoptive mother and the second to your birthmother. I want raw emotion- sad, acceptance, anger/rage, happiness, bittersweet- cathartic, healing, what ever you are feeling.I want to convey to people the feeling behind being an adoptee. Good and bad. My personal experience and personal research into adoption show that love doesn't always conquer all. I think writing is healing and maybe spilling the emotion onto paper would be healthy.I think that letters should be written anonymously, unless you want your name in print. I would rather simply show the emotion to those who wouldn't see it otherwise than create painful emotions amongst current family members. This can be discussed in further detail later. All letters will have to be submitted with a signed "right to use in publication" form which I will come up with. Each writer of a published set of letters will recieve a copy of the book upon publishing. Please be patient with me- this is the first time I've ever set out to do something like this. However, all privacy will be respected and I will be sure to "cross my t's and dot my i's." I have a pretty good idea about what needs to be done.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~My background in adoption: I was raised by my non-biological grandparents. My birthmother was adopted late in infancy and shows classic signs of Reactive Attachment Disorder- in her childhood and aldulthood. I was a hidden pregnancy, was on the verge of being adopted myself and a twist of fate put me in the care of her non-biological parents. Whew. I was basically disowned in my late twenties when I searched for her biological parents and found them. While this may be hopeful tomfoolery, I truly hope that someday she comes to term with whatever demons she has bottled up inside and we can have a normal adult friendship. But I won't hold my breath. My professional background is graphic design & photography. I look forward to working on this project. My projected time frame is one year for collecting with the following year for design and production. So, two years of research and design/production.I would also read any suggestions and comments on my idea and will certainly consider them.My email address is: wheresmyoj at gmail dot com-Stephanie Chambers
