Hi! My husband and I began the process of adopting from the Congo in January. We are half way through our home study. It is my understanding that our agency placed their first child from the Congo here in California last month. We have 2 biological children and know about the 3 children to a home rule, but our agency said that Congolese courts have allowed other families to adopt twins or sibling groups even if the total number of children after adoption is more than 3. my husband and i just finished our home study thinking we were going to adopt from ethiopia; however, with the recent changes in travel requirements we have re-thought this and are looking at changing agencies to adopt from congo. any info on one world adoption agency and or congo would be greatly appreciated! you can email me at 781-254-8837

Hi. Just an update: we accepted a referral for a 1 year old little boy! He is being moved into a foster home where he will receive medical care. Can't wait to get our little man home!

congratulations! that's wonderful. how long after receiving your approval from immigration did you get your referral? what agency did you use? we're just waiting for our fingerprint appt at this time....

Hi! We received referrals almost instantly. Deciding between more than one was heart wrenching. Ultimately we believe we made the right decision. Getting to that point was the hard part.

Hi! We are still waiting on final US approval. I'm told once the Congo has our dossier it moves VERY quickly. (They already have our application.) We are not traveling at the advice of our agency. One of our agency reps will escort our boy home. One day we hope to visit as a family when the country is more stable.
