My wife and I are currently doing our paperwork for a second adoption. I just finished grad school and I am waiting to start my public sector job as soon as my background investigation is finished which could take a while. In the meantime, we got medicaid for our adopted son until I receive my employer insurance.
The problem is that our agency is asking for proof of insurance for our new adoption. They normally ask for a copy of an employer insurance card but we don't have one. Our new child, when he/she comes, will be covered under medicaid but our agency can't figure out what they can use for proof of insurance in our case.
A similar problem may be if you were self employed and bought your own insurance. What would you show as proof?
They are having to call their headquarters in Salt Lake for Clarification but not before our social worker comes back from vacation. In the meantime, I am trying to see if I can figure out the problem.
Has anyone had this issue? What did you do?
Thanks!
P.S. I apologize if this is against the rule forbidding discussing particular agencies. if it is, please PM me with an answer.
