Looking for my birthsister, DOB 4/29/78. She was adopted at birth through LSS (closed adoption). Birthparents later married and are still married with 2 additional children (myself and my younger brother). Relatives consistently say that they are sure they spotted her various places in MN, so I have reason to think she lives in MN. Blonde hair (at least as a child) and blue eyes, distinctly Scandinavian, probably short or medium height. Would love to meet her.

The link below takes you to the laws in MN regarding adoption and are confusing as it depends upon the year of birth. But you and/or your parents should talk to them directly and if needed based on the year of birth file the appropriate affidavits releasing information to your sister if she also contacts them. They may also have a mutual consent registry and/or some type of Confidential Intermediary service that could search and contact your sister. Find out what you can and can't do and make sure all the doors are wide open for your sister if she is looking or has looked.
