What is typical for the first year of open adoption and the visits? We agreed on 2 visits per year. The good-bye visit happened after the adoption. So, does the bmom still get 2 visits this year? How long do you recommend between the finalization of the adoption and the first visit?

If the adoption happen in the last month or two then I would say that counts as a visit. You figure 2 visits a year means one about every 6 months (and I'd say 2 per calendar year.) So if one just happen it doesn't make sense (to me) to squeeze two in that are close together.My other thought is to ask her what she'd like. I mean does she want one in December near the holidays? If so then do the other one in June when school is out so they are spaced out. Or if she wants one around birthday time then do the other one about 6 months away. I wouldn't stick to the 6 months but somewhere around 4-8 months between each visit.
