Hi. I'm new to the board. My baby is almost 2 weeks old and I just saw pics of him for the first time yesterday sent by the adoptive mom. I haven't signed any adoption papers yet but she has POA for care of him for 1 year. The problem is that she flew in from another country to get him and he has been with her for a week. I want him. Is it too late?

If you have not signed a paper stating that you are terminating your parental rights - or if you have signed a paper stating that, but you are within the allowable time to 'revoke' that consent - then you have every right to reclaim your child. If you wish to reclaim your child and you are within the legally allowable time to do so, then you should do it ASAP by calling the professional you used and letting them know (in addition to sending a certified letter with return receipt stating your wishes). In some instances, it’s easy – in many, it’s not, so you may need to retain an attorney to represent your rights.

You say that the prospective adoptive mom flew into the country to get your baby, but I can't tell whether she and the baby have already flown back home. If so, you may be in for a legal nightmare.
If you have not signed any relinquishment papers, I'm pretty sure you can get your baby back. But you need to act very quickly...and you probably should contact an attorney ASAP.
