Need Everyone's Help - TODAY!!!

The bill passed today in the Senate JII committee. However PLEASE we need ALL of YOUR help TODAY. We NEED YOU to CALL YOUR SENATOR representing your area and ask that they support HB1463. Without YOUR CALL, this bill may not be passed TODAY on the Senate Floor. (3:00pm) If you know of others who can call, who are in favor of this passing, have them also call their Senator. You will find his phone number there. PLEASE DO THIS so HB1463 will PASS today. Below is what the bill is about. Under the current Confidential Intermediary Program, intermediary services can not continue if the birth parents are deceased. This excludes many older adult adoptees from the benefit of the confidential intermediary program. HB 1463 would expand the list of persons who may employ or be contacted by a confidential intermediary. Siblings, 1/2 siblings, other family members..... If birth parents are deceased, the bill would allow an agency to search for and contact other family members without the adoptee obtaining a court order. This would give older adult adoptees a chance to learn about their biological families even after their biological parents have died. It will allow for adoptees 18 and older to utilize the CI program. Tell the legislative aid you are (an adoptee, birthparent, adoptive parent, sibling, other family member, etc.) Tell them you are the SenatorҒs constituent, and you would like for him to vote favorably for HB1463 when it comes up on the floor for a vote TODAY.
