I've been hearing of quite a few unpleasant remarks about the president lately and other remarks coming from our elected officials, but this is really the kicker. Disagreeing with policies is one thing (many of which I can't stand myself) and disrespecting him in a way that has nothing to do with policies is another. I am wondering how these ignorant people get into office? What are your thoughts on this?!!
I can understand (well not really, but more so I guess) the occasional bigot just going around in the world, but when they get into office and are supposed to represent people and respect the highest office in our country it's really a sad day.

They do things like this because they want to deflect the conversation away from actual problems and how to solve them by giving people something else to think about. Fear this, hate the, those people, weall know how X people are, etc. It's the stereotypical ideals that fuel these kinds of statements and those who won't, can't or don't take the time to read and find out for themselves, swallow this garbage hook, line and sinker because it's easier than the afore mentioned reading and searching. In this case, he knew what eh was saying was wrong, but he also knew that the people who listened to him would then have yet another question in their mind about the validity of the President's place, the politics, etc., and that would take their mind of of the issues that matter.
It's ok, we'll tell you what to think. Here, have a glass of koolaid.
