Advice needed please.....I am in New Jersey / Passaic County. I have cross posted this with foster support, but got no responses.
I just had my new resource worker come to my home b/c we felt like the old one was very incompetent - anyway that is another story.
I asked the resource worker if I could use 4 CS even though I currently am not working. But I am interviewing and doing phone interviews and intend to go back to work full time so I asked if I could get childcare coverage through 4CS, such as either 3 full days per week or 9 - 3Mon - Fri (same hours that my biological son is in Kindergarten).
The resource worker said it would not be a problem - we do it for foster mothers who need a break and that I would have to make sure the daycare accepts 4Cs. I called my old daycare up where my son used to go and they do accept 4 CS, but the owner could not really give me an explanation as to how it works, except that she would work with me.
My questions are:
Would I have to pay any money out...such as a co-pay?
Could I definitely get the paid coverage even if I am currently not in the workforce, although trying to get back in the workforce?
How long does the process take to get in place?
Do I have to pay up front?
Has anyone ever done something like this?
Thanks guys.

Here we use Programs for Parents. The choices were only two: full time or part time. Full time payment is something like $650/month and part time was half. I have to pay the difference between the $650 and the actual cost of the daycare. I did some research and found a center that had openings and that I liked well enough. I pay about $400/month beyond the subsidy - but I take that out of my monthly stipend for the baby.
