I only use a foundation.. Bare Minerals. I am not a make-up person..and so out of the loop. Now that I have a DD I need to step up my game. ;)
Any suggestions on a good quality line for lip sticks, eye shadow/blush?
Ugh! Rub it in why don't ya?!
I actually have a built in Nav system in my vehicle, but it's CD based and many time fairly useless. I only REALLY want the GPS when I'm driving, but since discovering online grocery shopping I only drive every other weekend or so.
My other Christmas present was a flat screen for my bedroom. I'm showing restraint on an IPad... I can have it when I've completely unpacked every box in the house... I'm no where close.

We used to do online grocery shopping when we lived in Roswell. That was a really nice. They closed up shop when they couldn't get a liquor license. Everything was super fresh all the time.
My DH is out shopping again today. He's bought the majority of the kids Christmas gifts. Every year we say we are scaling back but somehow it always goes awry. I figured things were out of hand this year when he called asking about a cotton candy maker. Sad thing is I'm excited about getting one. I call my sister and she's no better... She tells me how to make flavored cotton candy. DH and I are bad... We overindulge the kids by catering to our inner child. If the kids are rotten it's 100% our fault.
DH sent me a text message a little while ago telling me to order the TV I want for the bedroom. I wasn't planning on getting a new tv until he painted the bedroom. I guess that means the room won't be painted. Panasonic is doing a you pay what we pay sale so I can get a tv at the Panasonic employee pricing with free shipping.
Got a product review for you. I have a problem with an oily t-zone and have been looking an oil control daily moisturizer. I got a sample of this from Sephora and finally tried it. I love it. The best thing is it is preservative free and free of some of the ingredients I'm trying to get away from. I was getting sick and tired of DD calling my shiny face at the end of the day. LOL!
Boscia Oil-free Daily Hydration SPF 15
all boscia products are:
- Preservative-free
- Bactericide-free
- Synthetic colorant-free
- Synthetic fragrance-free
- Mineral oil-free
- Animal ingredients-free
- Ethanol-free
- Pthalate-free
I'm also using Boscia Enlivening Amino-AG Eye Treatment and haven't used it long enough to determine if it lives up to all its claims. The only thing I can say is the skin around my eyes is really soft and well moisturized since I started using it. Can't say if it handles wrinkles, puffiness or dark circles yet.
This is a typical 50 pin-up look that includes: a front set, matte eye shadow bare peach or pink tint, cat's eye is a definite line, a soft pink blush, and a true red lipstick . Keep skin matte and very very clean and clear.

I'm late on this one as well. Clarisonic has a new version of the Mia out. It was $124 on QVC as a today's special value. I bought one and will give my old Mia to DD with new brushes suitable for her skin type. I got the black and white leopard with the red button.

You see enough of beautiful you. Why do you want to cover your such a lovely face, when all this will ultimately do is premature aging of your skin.

Got a question for you... Have you been to a green esthetician? They have a new one at my waxing salon and I'm curious if there is a major difference. I'm kind of sitting on the fence about trying her services. I prefer natural products but she doesn't look put together if you KWIM. I kind of expect an esthetician to have fabulous skin and well groomed brows which she doesn't. In the beauty field I kind of expect the professionals to look like they utilize their own products/services.
DD has started using her clarisonic. She loves it. I never have to remind her to wash her face anymore. She washes her face and put moisturizer on every morning and at bedtime without my prompting. Now DS is asking for one because he doesn't want to use the pink one she has. LOL I may buy him a knock-off Nutra Sonic. If he winds up not using it I'll give it to DH.

No, I've never been to a green esthetician, or had a necessarily "green" procedure. But when I think about it, a lot of the procedures are sorta green/natural - like the pumpkin peels and the microderms using salt.
I hear ya on the professional appearing more pulled together, but I know my old hairstylist was pure genius and she usually rocked a bald head or a low pink or red fro... depending on her mood. :) I see her on FB now... she has a mohawk.

I poke it probably does not belong to this that my nose, our family doctor told me that in some beauty products, may lead to cancer-related toxins. She suggested that for me, I have been gradually reduced from our large product line home criminals.

You know that really should have been mircroderm using baking soda, but you probably figured that out!
I've "discovered" something, that you may already do... I have some coconut oil that I bought for my hair and one night before bed, I decided to use it on my face instead of my night moisturizer. I can't believe how good coconut oil is as a moisturizer! I only use it at night since as you can imagine it's sort of greasy just after application. It soaks in pretty fast, but not fast enough for morning usage when I have to apply make-up. It seems to me I have more clarity and my skin is very smooth. I'm sold on it.
I'm going to finish off my night moisturizer (Philosophy Hope in a Jar) eventually, but I can't imagine repurchasing again. I'm really impressed with the coconut oil.

Cool, some people use coconut oil for skin, hair and cooking. In all reality unless allergic to nuts etc;. it or another natural oil is a cheaper way to go.
I have mixed a bit in the Shea butter..warmed up in the palm of my hand.

Okay, no lie... after I posted this I went to the grocery store and a woman stopped me and told me I had beautiful skin. I gave her a smile and said thank you... she was about to leave and then turned back and said, "I'm a professional esthetician ... I don't say that to people normally". Ha! lol... I'm the first to admit I have good genes when it comes to skin, but even I've noticed a difference (thus my post) and have to give the props to the coconut oil.

I have no problem with a hairstylist wearing their hair in styles that I wouldn't wear or even unkempt because I figure that's one profession where they can take creative license and be who they are... plus they have to be tired of doing hair all day and probably wouldn't have time to do their own. I figure a skincare professional has to wash their face so their skin should be gorgeous especially when she has the free time to solicit clients in the waiting room. I was thinking about using her for back treatment/facial to get ready for summer. The ladies who do the waxing in that place have gorgeous skin and talk about which products they use to maintain. Last time I went I was asked what I use because my skin was well moisturized and I have no wrinkles at my age.
Have you tried one of those oil facial cleansers? I've heard those are awesome and don't leave your face an oil slick. Shiseido makes a good one and there are some others on the market that contain argan oil. I haven't tried any oils on my face for fear of it clogging and causing breakouts but I'm hearing it doesn't cause any.
The coconut oil sounds awesome. Glad it works for you. I've always had reaction of some to coconut sort so I avoid it.
