My FD's plan has changed from reunification to adoption. We are thrilled since we would love to make her a permanent part of the family - but still feel sad for her bio family. We just pray that nothing happens to stop this or no one comes out of the woodwork. They said it could take 10 mo -1 yr for the adoption to be finalized. How long did you have to wait until the plan was changed? What can I expect from this point? I know the worker will change since her case is now going to the adoption unit. But I'm not sure what else happens from here.
We are so excited that we are getting closer - this was a great bday present for me.

Our goal changed in April and we are now a month from TPR trial (11 months). Once the judge terminates, as long as everyone does their job, we should able to finalize within 60 days, so I'm thinking May/June. We would have been there sooner, but we had to terminate a KLG before they would set the trial date. That happened in October. Congratulations and hang in there.

Congrats!! My first was about 8 months; 2nd was a little under year; the last 2 were about a year but there was an appeal. There was no family to consider so that wasn't a consideration for me.

Our plan was changed last March. We still have not had a termination trial. I *heard* that there might be a termination trial this april - so that will be about 12 months after the goal was changed.
He has been with us for 2 years so far

Thanks for the info. It sounds like the timeframe they gave is pretty accurate. I don't mind waiting so much as I am nervous that something can happen to change everything during this time.
