Hello,
I'm a single woman exploring adoption from Burundi. As far as I can tell, there are only two agencies that work in Burundi - World Horizons for Children and Americans Adopting Orphans.
I would love to hear any constructive feedback on either of these agencies, the good and the bad.
In particular, I'm anxious to hear from people who have successfully (or unsuccessfully) adopted from Burundi, or are going through the process now. Costs, the paperwork process, length of time to adopt, etc...
I'm trying to decide if I want to move forward and, if I do, I would like a realistic idea of what I'm getting into.
Please respond privately to my adoption.com account: QRue
Being new to the adoption arena, I greatly appreciate any help anyone can give me.
Here's a blog of a family who has had their dossier there since February. The Deziels: Our Burundi Adoption - Aug 2011
American Adoptions and Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota are working there. http://www.lssmn.org/adoption/burundi/
