Dear Birth Mother,
I do not know your name. I do not know what it feels like to be near you. I do not know where you are, what you are doing with your life, who you have become. But I do know one thing about you. I know that you made one of the biggest and best decisions of both of our lives. You made the decision to give someone else, someone who couldn't otherwise, a chance to be parents. You gave me a chance at life. It's 22 years later and still every day, you are one of my biggest heros in my life. I have a wonderful family, two parents who love me more than life itself and younger sister who is my pride and joy. I had the chance to go to high school and learn so many thing. I had the chance to attend college, and am currently a semester away from becoming a teacher. You gave me the chance to learn volleyball, my strongest ability. You gave me the chance to hear about what Christ did for me. But most importantly, you gave me the chance of life.
I don't know if I'll ever meet you. I wonder sometimes about you, where you are, what you're up to. But no matter what, just know that every day of my life, every moment that I have the chance to experience more, I am so thankful for your decision to save my life. I wish I had a better way of thanking you. Maybe someday you'll find this. If not, maybe I'll pretend you did.
With love,
Carly (Born December 27, 1988 in Philadelphia PA)
Dear Carly,
I hope your birth mother finds this thread...because you sound like an amazing young woman. Your words touched my heart, and I'm positive she would be overjoyed to know that you have thrived in life. :loveyou:
