Since most bmoms are of Christian denomination, there are still prejudices against Jews and some bmoms do not want to place with them.Our bmom knew that we were Jewish and was okay with that. She was also 28 years old at the time and in the Navy, so perhaps she was a little more worldly. Her opinion was that she wanted there to be relligion in the home, but that it didn't matter which religion as long as it was mainstream and not cult-like.The first time we met her she reiterated that she knew of our religion and, since she knew she was having a boy, whould make sure that he was not circumcised in the hospital.
