Our baby has had a head tilt since the day we got her. I could go on and on about how this is, etc......but the bottom line is that the PT has been doing some aggressive massaging and it seems to be working well. She has now suggested Kenesio taping to encourage the muscles to move over some time. I get the theory and it sounds promising.
My nephew---who has significant CP (and other things) from CMV exposure is already in treatment with this therapy. Has anyone else here dealt with Kenesio taping for therapies and how did it fare?
Thanks ahead of time...
Sincerely,
Linny
I'm a pediatric OT and I use it quite frequently. I've had great results in kids with mild to moderate muscle tone issues. In kids with more severe muscle tone issues, I have seen a difference it's just not as long lasting. Feel free to PM with any specific questions.

THANK YOU, Becca for responding to my post!!!!!!!! I was beginning to think there was NO ONE who'd ever dealt with this at all!!!!!
I'll be sure to keep you in mind if/when I have questions about it. The PT has applied a 'test strip' to make sure she won't have a reaction to the tape. (It lasted three days before it came off.....but she had no reaction! :) )
I'm anxious to get it started. She has come a long way with some aggressive massage techniques.......to the point that the torticollis (sorry if this is misspelled).....is much more mild, rather than moderate. But, the PT wants to use the Kenesio taping now, in hopes that it will continue to help.
Again, thank you very much!!!!! :)
Sincerely,
Linny
