I'm not sure about the NJ laws, but in IN, I was able to request Non-ID through the state. I had to give my name, b'day, aparents names and they sent back the info. I suppose if you were adopted, that would be one way to find out. Have you considered approaching any other family members? Have you seen pictures of your Mom when she was pregnant, or anything like that?

i cant find n e pictures at all of my mom pregnant with me theres no baby book or n e thing im nervous to go to a family member bc if im wrong im going to look very stupid also if theres a secret like that in the family they wouldnt tell me i askd my cousin whos like 18 years older then me i was like soo do you remember when my mom was pregnant with me and he didnt answer for a lil bit and hes like na not really i was to young but he was round 18 how would he be to young??? he had nothin to say about it an i was at the hospital and they askd my mom questions she had somthin i can remember wat it was but it complicated having kids n she told the doctor she got that operation ware she cant have kids 20 years ago and im 18...im hoping she just got her years mixd up but my problem is idk how to request information or ware i even go to to request it or what to look for im completely clueless on what to do im not to good at this stuff

On this site, go to the search and reunion forum and scroll down a bit. The states and their laws are listed. Of course, you could always have been adopted from a different state as well. Not that common, but could happen.

Of course, there is DNA but that is expensive and probably not viable at your age.

i think the easiest thing to know for sure and the fastest way would be dna test right??? ill just save up and get one of them i think that would b easiest for now

It would be the most definite, but for the cost of the stamp you can fill out the state paperwork, wait 6 weeks, and see what they have to say.Not that I'd give up on a DNA test...Another thought, do you know the hospital you were born at? "If" you're not an adoptee, you have the right to get your medical records. Request the ones of your birth.

As a DNA scientist, I gotta go with the DNA test. But you would need your siblings or your parents too.

You're not even sure you're adopted? But you DO know your birthdate, how about your birthplace? I can't imagine anyone not being willing to tell you that much! Even if you saw your birth certificate it would be a new one, replacing the original, with the parents you know replacing the originals, if it's even true you're adopted.
