Legal Notices in 1975

I was born/adopted in Fayetteville, NC in 1975. I have the legal pleading/letter head of the attorneys who presented the final order of adoption (unsure if they were an attorney for adopted parents, state, or birthmother) but no direct name or bar numbers. I do not see a current listing for this firm, but I was wondering if anyone knows where attorney's generally listed legal notices in Cumberland County in 1975 and if any of this information would be online now? I don't have the information on me right now because I am not at home but the firm I believe was McGeachy and Altman. Also does anyone know when in the adoption process legal notices would usually be posted? Any help is greatly appreciated.
