I'm hoping this display correctly... I found this pic online and would like to buy the actual print for DD's bedroom... Does anyone have any idea how I can go about finding this print?? I would love the pirnt, but am not above color copying and framing... :)
Do you know the artist name or info? I find a lot of stuff at art.com & I know they have an AA collection.
Awesome pic, btw!:)

Isn't it the coolest thing?
I found out the artist is Frank Morrison and it's titled 'I See a Queen". But I think it's out of print, because I can't seem to find it anywhere.
It is a cute rendition, if I find it I will pm you. I have one of Morrison's reproduction, trying to figure out where to hang it.
I am working on our accessories and art collections. Nothing expensive, but nice stuff. Some times you can luck out finding already framed or embossed reproductions. I do prefer the prints, that way I can choose my own frame. I do like one that's floating around, titled: you are what you eat. Its too cute. :-)
It looks to me like it is an original artwork according to this website, so if you have a spare grand:

I take it you don't want to spend that much (though I'm sure such a beautiful picture would be a good investment for whoever does buy it). However, there is a contact phone number on the above site so they may be able to give you more info about prints etc. I came across this site re giclee prints and I note that some artists will do these types of prints on request:

$1000 bucks... I should have known! Cath, I'm almost mad you found it... I have a serious impulse control problem! lol
I'll check into if prints are available. ~fingers crossed~
Thanks for the info.

Went antiquing today on a whim, so I hear you. So the art piece would go in DDs room? How is her abstract artistic approach, say using the medium of stickers, crayons etc; :eyebrows:

Ooooh, I love antique shopping.... there is this town in Alabama that I used to stop in on the way to Destin, FL. It has the best antique shops...
If the artist doesn't issue a print for the painting I'm gonna have to go with the color copy in a frame :eyebrows: . $1000 bucks on an original in DD's room? No, thank you. I do love the picture, but I have two originals in the house and they didn't cost $1000.

$1000 for an original is a steal. I would find out if he plans to release prints, limited editions of it because it could become an investment peace for you. Frank Morrison is a very prolific artist and has lots of prints out there so if you really like something go for an original if you want it to increase in value.
I've got a friend who sells art and she's pointed me in the direction of some pieces that I still kick myself over. I just couldn't cough up the cash. I have limited editions, giclees and originals. I stopped buying the regular limited editions when I started buying giclees. Art purchases stopped after the kids came along. I have pieces by Charles Bibbs, LaShun Beal, Kathleen Wilson, Grace Kisa... I would love to do my whole house in Jonathan Green if I could afford it. I love those gullah images.
FWIW... I had a very nice piece in my DD's room. It was promptly removed when I saw it hanging sideways. LOL

Sleeplvr, I thought that myself about the investment aspect.
I also wondered who had the right to create prints, i.e. the artist only or the person who has bought the painting? I would imagine that if the buyer of the painting had the right to create prints, they could make a fortune doing so - when I googled the name of this painting, I found there were quite a few people on a FB page that wanted a print of it.

Just from what I've seen the artist usually keeps the original until all the prints have sold out and then retains the copyright.
My friend always pointed us to new artists for originals because originals from established artists tend to be pricey. She really didn't care for artists that saturate the market with their work but she still sold it. She had showcase's for the artists so I got to meet all the artists of the works that I own. I ended up getting some very limited edition pieces and a remarque or two. The best advice she gave was to buy what you love and not worry about investments.
If the piece were to be showcased in a common area of the house, then maybe... As lovely, inspiring and awesome as the print is, it's not something I would put in my living area.
The artist is in the Atlanta area - I'm going to be there next month so I'll check into it.
I'm not into art for investment purposes though, so unless it was a stunner piece that was keeping me awake at night... I won't spend that amount.
