we have been foster parents in IL and VA, we now live in IN and are ready to start the process to be a foster to adopt home. any suggestions for good agencies? also, we have a 3 bedroom house and 3 sons that will share a room is this legal? thanks for your help.
VERY excited to start this process again!
When we moved here we called around to different agencies and based on our age preference we were told that our best option was to be a county home.
You can put your bio/adopted kids in whatever room configuration you choose. I doubt, unless the room is extremely large you'd be able to put another child in with them so you would be limited to 1 gender at a time using the 3rd bedroom. And IN law now is no more than 5 kids, so only being licensed for 2.

We too contacted several different agencies prior to selecting the one we chose. My advice is to findan agency that "feels" right for you and your family.
Jen already filled you in on the law about 5 children here, we just found out that we could potentially adopt 3 more in the future since our eldest is now 18. Not ready to think about that quite yet as we are still getting our new son and daughter settled in.
Here you are required to have 50 square feet per child that would be a determing factor you might want to keep in mind, a typical 10x10 room would be suitable for two children of the same sex. Hope that helps!
Good luck!
County just means you work directly with Department of Child Services, calls come from them not a 3rd party agency. Some people feel you get a greater amount of support from the Agency. But they try to place kids in dcs homes before agency homes generally.
