Hi Lori,
We are trying to see if Sen Broden is interested in keeping it alive on the floor. The committee chair (republican) refused to call it up for testimony. We are working with Children's Rights, and one of their attorneys is willing to come to Indiana to meet with families, but I need to get a committment from people to meet with him so that he does not come all the way from New York and no one shows for the meeting. Since I lost all of my staff 6 months ago because of our grant loss, I have had lots of challenges juggling everything by myself. If you would be willing to help me contact people to get a committment to meet with the national organization, we could get some momentum going.

Is the Indiana adoption subsidy petition still to be ( if it has not been) sent to congress? I was informed by one legislator that the bill did not make it through committee by the deadline. He mentioned tht it could possibly come up for a vote. But I have no idea what he means by that. I really thought we had a chance this year. So much for pipe dreams.
Other than all members of congress that I have already contacted. On top of Mitch Daniels, is there any one else that can be contacted in regard to this issue? I think it should be illegal for them to do.. so maybe an attorney!?
Any info you can give is appreciated.
Sincerely,
