After 3 years in the process, we received a phone call last week that a baby girl was ready to come home! Less than 24 hours later, we brought our DD home! She is full AA and the most beautiful baby I have ever laid my eyes on. I am still so amazed at how quickly this has all happened! So far, she is just happy and content. She's sleeping like a champ!
DD is a dream come true! :)
I'm looking forward to getting a nice network of other transracial adoption buddies on this forum. It'll be a great place to get advice and share stories.
I haven't adopted transracially, but wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS!!! Enjoy your little girl :D

Congratulations!!!
I have been around a few new parents lately, a couple friends and a coworker. I feel like as an adoptive parent I enjoy everything more. I never complain, I love every minute with him.
I rush home to get to him and I appreciate how blessed I am to be his mommy.
Take every moment in and take lots and lots of pictures!

I didn't notice your post until just now, but am very happy for you! I would love to see a picture of your little princess! Aren't babies the most wonderful thing, worth all of the months and years of struggle it takes to them? Every time I think about the process of adopting my kids, I'm reminded of how totally exhausting it was, mentally, emotionally, physically, and financially. My grandchildren have gotten here so easily, in comparison!
Have fun. Take lots of pictures and write down the things she does. There are things you need no help to remember, but it is fun to look back, years later, and even read about typical days and little things they did. I wish we could slow them down when they are babies, and then speed them up when they get to be about 12!
I missed your post earlier, too. Congratulations! I get the feeling a little shocked by speed of events as well; I was 2000 miles from home with C in my arms less than 48 hours after I found out I was going to be a mom. Hope you're adjusting well!
