Thanks Celia. I needed that laugh this morning.
I just had to do something that I detested and have never done before in my life due to extreme fear. I PICKED UP A SNAKE!!!!! Of course it was only the size of a #2 Ticondaroga pencil, but it was STILL A SNAKE. Oh how I hate those things.
Sankes have been terrible here in east Texas. I had two outdoor cats get biten and survived. Scared me because I didn't know where it was and I never found it. I really did not want my 5 yr old to find it. I have a friend who has a small dog rescue about 20 miles away and he is always finding them in the water buckets or underneath them. Hopefully you won't have to do that again though.
I hope not, though these snakes are your harmless garden snake - sneaky snakes to me. I just can't stand them.
I only picked it up because I don't want my fear to rub off on my boys. Nekoda was standing there with his boot on it yelling at Samuel "Sam, pick it up before it slimes away". Sam didn't have the coordination to pick up a moving object so I had to do it. I immediately threw it over the fence. Get it away from my yard.
