They are totally ripping people off and don't put in the effort to actually do a search. They told me my birth name was too common and their would be too many to search through. Excuse me but isn't that why I paid 1200.00 for them to search? Isn't that the business their in to search for people?
I recommend Kinsolving Investigations and Chris Lee.
They provided all my information in 2 weeks for both of my birthparents. Omnitrace took over a year and provided only my birth name, not even my middle name. Kinsolving provides a detailed and extensive report. It's actually amazing and how fast they turned this information around.
I wish I had a dollar for every adoptee and birth parent who have told me similar things about Omnitrace. I've heard mostly negative things about them for years now.
I would encourage people to first join a triad support group that specializes in search and reunion. Also, there are plenty of search angels who can often access info for free. There are a couple website reunion registries that are fantastic and seem to produce results fairly quickly for free. The one I'm thinking about is run by a guy named George, but for the life of me, I can't remember the site's name right now....all I can remember is that it starts with a G.
