I here it take years to adopt in China, even as much as 7 years, so you might have overly long wait.

Thanks Richard :) And yeah I heard the same thing crazy_woman, but we are inquiring about a little girl who is on the "waiting child" list. We have been told that if we are approved it should take a little over a year. We'll see how it goes :) The sooner she is in my arms the better. I can only hope that things go smoothly. Also, I'm friggin DROWNING in paperwork right now. And I am only on the homestudy so far. I haven't even gotten to the Dossier stuff which I hear is a friggin' nightmare. It is helpful that I can click over to her picture when I am starting to feel defeated.

the dossier is not that bad....we worked our tails off and from letter of intent to pick up it was almost 7 months. :) just be sure to watch the dates on your documents and get them to the chinese embassy before they expire or are more than 6 months old. :)

Oooooh REALLY good to know! :) I'm just taking it one document at a time right now. I had them all opened on my laptop at one point and I thought my head was going to explode. The one at a time approach seems to be much calmer and doable. I do find that working with two different agencies (placement and home study) adds to the stress. I can't remember which one told me to send which document. I need to start taking better notes and/or get more organized...for my own sanity. (If I have any of that left at this point.)
