Can someone explain what happens at a TPR hearing? We have one for a prospective adoptive daughter coming up in September. DH attended one of the permanency hearings & we're wondering what the difference is.
Thanks!
Our CW said that at the actual hearing the state would lay out their case. Witness would be called to talk about the parents working their plan, or not, their progress in counseling, etc. As Foster Parents, we will be called to testify about how we supported RU and what we did for the BM. The state usually lays it all out there, any visits missed, etc.
If you go on in.gov and search termination of parental rights, you can read appeals. These gave me an idea of what was discussed at the TPR hearings.

Thanks! We attended the TPR hearing yesterday. It was pretty much as you said except it went very quickly and both parent's rights were terminated.
