We just completed our homestudy for foster care. We want to move forward to the next step and complete SPAULDING classes for adoption. I have also been told there is an adoption study. What is that?

Sorry for the slow response. Hopefully you had better luck if you posted elsewhere...
For us, it was as simple as one meeting with the adoption case worker in our home (she was the same one we had for our foster homestudy, since they outsourced it to the same company - and we also had a copy of our approved private-agency homestudy from a few years previous). She confirmed if anything had changed from other homestudies, made a few notes, visited with our infant FD, and a few weeks later (to allow time for them to submit the report to the state licensing office) we were told we were approved.
If it was a different case worker, it would probably take a little more time, since they would have to go over some of the stuff that the original foster worker did. But, it shouldn't be any worse than your fostering homestudy.
We will have a different caseworker, unfortunately. It doesn't sound too bad though. Thank you for your response!
