We have had our 1st placement. Went good, they were moved to a family member.
#1 payment on one child only paid for 1/2 the time they were here, can not get the CW to call back and help me?
#2 now that we have no children in our home do we automatically go back onto a "waiting list"?
#3 are our names on a state list, county list, how do other counties get our information, that we are available? (we live in one county but are very close to another county)
#4 I am asking here, because it is almost impossible to get CW on the phone. I have been trying to call all week.
Thank you!

If you cannot get a response from the CW, you might try your Licensing Worker, or the CW's supervisor. Either one of them should be able to help answer your questions. Keep moving up the chain if nobody responds in a reasonable amount of time.
If you had yourselves taken off your county/agency list during your previous placement, then you should ask to be put back on. Otherwise, in my experience, you are ALWAYS on the list. If you are licensed through the state, then any placement agency in the state can (and probably has) retrieved your info for their own lists - especially if you live near a large city or county that tends to have a lot of cases. Things seem to have picked up once school started, and will probably do so again over the holidays too.
Good luck!

I'm sorry you aren't getting through to your CW. I have been so very lucky. I have emails and phone #'s to our trainer, licensing worker, the head of the children's CD, one of the workers at the CD, a CD worker in the neighboring county...everyone has chimed in, given me other names and emails of people to ask questions of or talk to, and we've had great support. I have read other stories that kind of make me cringe as I see it doesn't go that way in every county.
We are told that our name goes on a list, and that other counties can call for a placement. They usually try to place children in the county where the family resides due to visitation and court scheduling issues, but there are times they just have to work their way out to find that open home.
