I am in San Bernadino county and I am hoping you guys can help me with my question. Are you aloud to use a pack n play in San Bernadino County? I know the child can stay in your bedroom till up to two years old and you can use a bassinet but I can't find anything about a pack n play. Any info would be great I know it varies from county to county. Thank you

Well, this isn't an official answer, but we are also in SB County and became foster parents in one day due to the circumstances. We did not have a crib, but we did have a pack and play. We were approved with it, so I would say it seems like it was ok. Our little one was not quite two years old at the time. I doubt if it would fly with a family foster care agency though. They are much more particular than the county.
You can not use it permanently. We didn't know our crib had to be set up so early in the process..but they didn't approve us until we did set it up. A pack and play is totally unacceptable for a foster child to sleep in on a permanent basis...or even more than a couple of days (if it was an emergency placement from family or something). If you are just planning on fostering a child...then plan and get a crib. I do not know what your plans are or anymore than you stated, but if one cannot provide a crib then perhaps one should not be fostering. (Not saying this is your situation of course, but mentioning because it could be - I do not know)Oh and if you mean the child has a crib, but you want a pack and play occasional use (or to take on vacations).........then of course that is fine! We did when we had company over 1 night.
