I've been reading your wonderful posts and then it hit me - I'm 46 y.o. and my husband (though 10 years junior) has an Insulin Dependent Diabetes Type 1. Will this automatically write us off for the Russian judge? We have a 7 y.o. bio child and were thinking about adoption even before we married - we are all ready and hoping.
If there's hope, would you recommend an agency that will work with us?
Or, should we look into Ukraine (hoping that their process is somewhat easier)?
Many thanks for any input.

Yes, his diabetes is managed, we had no problems so far. It's comforting to know about the age. As for the agencies - that's my stumbling block, as I'm notorious for picking wrong home improvement companies, mechanics, agents, etc. I looked up some and they all claim great work in Russia. The list on this forum is very extensive but doesn't give you any details, just the name and location... How do I go about asking recommendations (Did a great job/Don't go near them) about agencies from real people without breaking any forum rules?

You can ask others to give you agency feedback via private messages. One thing I would advice you about is that there may still be some agencies that are not accredited by Russia to work there directly, but that work through an accredited agency. This is called an "umbrella" agency. You may be seeing several of those as well if you are doing a web based serach. So, try to find an agency directly accredited by Russia.
