I have always cut my bio son's hair but when we got our stbas, I figured I would leave it to the barber shop because it is just so different. Well, stbas HATES having his hair cut. He squirms and screams like someone is torturing him. After he came back the second time with patchy hair and tears running down his face, I decided to buy a good set of clippers and try doing it myself. I didn't see any way I could do a worse job than that patchy mess that came home. IT TURNED OUT SO CUTE!!! Just a little buzz cut with the clippers, nothing fancy. I set him in his high chair and gave him a mirror so he could watch and we talked about it tickling his head. *bounce* One obstacle conquered!

It was a wrestling match to start with our little guy too. He's better about it now. And Dad is better at it as well! He stands on the bathroom sink and watches in the mirror.
His favorite person to see in a mirror is himself which keeps him distracted :)

My son also detests having his hair buzzed. I can't take him out to have it cut as he pitches such a fit. But, we have saved lots of $$ doing it at home! And I've become pretty good at it :)
