I am so happy to report that our home study has finally been scheduled for next Thursday!! I wish I could say that I am over the moon excited but I am a nervous wreck! I just ordered new beds for our 3 extra bedrooms (2 didn't have any and one needed a new one)and I hired a cleaning crew to clean the floors, carpets and pretty much the whole house! my husband thinks I am turning into a mad woman...and I have to agree with him. I know my house doesn't have to be or look perfect but I don't want to give them a reason to delay anything. It has already taken this long for them to schedule our home study.
I have been scouring the internet for home study questions and experiences other people have had. I just can't wait to get it over with, can anyone share any last minute advice or tips? It would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

We are in Florida. At our walkthrough they didn't really check for cleanliness - they checked for safety; did we have a fire extinguisher, did we have a fire escape plan, did we have locks on the doors, working smoke detectors, medications and guns locked up.....They didn't even check to see if we had carseats - though of course I did. I also made sure to point out things like our fenced in backyard, door alarms, baby gates, etc.

When the health department came to do their inspection, they checked my water temperature and also my refrigerator temperature-I had to get a refrigerator thermometer. Also, last week I had my re-licensing visit from the health department, and they noted that there was a hole in one of my screens. They didn't "fail" me because of it, but now my agency is requiring that I repair it before renewing my license.
Hi everyone!!
Thanks for all your comments! The home study went great! She was at our home for a little over 2 hours and the questions she asked were not bad at all. All that worry was for nothing! I thought she would have to come back out or interview us a couple more times before home study approval but she said all she is waiting for now is our background checks, fingerprints and references to come back which should be some time next week and then if all that passes (which should be no problem) then we will be licensed!
Also, she just told us about 3 siblings in our county who will be going through TPR court this Tuesday, Bio mom has had many chances to get her act together but unfortunately her addiction is more important than getting her children back. They have been in Foster Care for over 2 years, CW says Judge will grant TPR if she knows there is another family lined up, so CW wanted to know if hubby and I are willing to start visits with them if TPR is granted. She said she picked us out earlier this month after she looked through our profile packet and saw our photo album. CW thinks the children have a lot in common with us as far as hobbies and she said that since the children are biracial and hubby and I are an interracial couple (he's Irish & I'm Polynesian) it would be a least risk placement for them. We know that we shouldn't get our hopes up too high because anything can happen but we are excited. I just have to say I am so relieved that everything went well.
Thanks again for the comments and advice!
Best wishes to you all!
