I have to constantly change due to L and her ever changing reaction to shampoos/conditioners/detangler spritz etc.
Right now, what is causing no tears when combing is shea moister conditioner, and shea moister co-wash conditioner.
She doesn't cry when I comb in the bath. What else works for you....especially biracial curly haired kiddos.
Don't laugh but I had to go to the bathroom to check!! My brain is mummified! My hair is thick and curly. I use Pantene.

I had to go down and check too. I have straight, blond hair but my AA/CC son has very thick, curly hair.
I use Proclaim Olive Glossing Shampoo about once a month and the rest of the time 'wash' his hair with Proclaim Olive Glossing Conditioner. It can be found at your beauty supply store (here it is Sally's). The stylist I take him too says that he has the softest hair for it being so curly.
In between conditioner washings, when he has braids in I use Doo Gro or Olive Hair Pudding. I usually put it on at night and then, since he has a smaller hear (6 yo) I put a knee-high nylon on and tie it off at his head. This works very well.
My 11 month old has very soft, very curly hair... I use Aquaphor Gentle Wash & Shampoo and Johnson's No More Tangles Spray.
I use "Knot Today" by Kinky-Curly on W's hair. He has that afro/cuban tightly coiled hair. Knot Today has a coconut oil base so it smells great and looks great. Also, have you checked out the "Mixed Chicks" brand hair products. I have a friend who is White/Dominican who uses those products. She has gorgeous hair.

Organix Coconut Oil Conditioner (can be found grocery or drug store). It is so thick and smells fabulous. Her hair is so hydrated when we are done. I use it once or twice a week as a co-wash and every morning mixed with water in a spritz bottle.
She is bi-racial with soft spiral curls.
I just started using Mixed Chicks leave in conditioner on Wee-man's hair and have been happy with the outcome. I haven't tried any of their other products though. I also spray his hair with water first, it seems to make combing out easier.
I'm a fan of the Cantu line. Moisturizing shampoo, rinse out conditioner, leave in conditioner & spray conditioner. The leave in conditioner is the best!!! It's shea butter. I wash my FD's hair twice a week using the shampoo, rinse out conditioner & leave in conditioner. The 2-3 days after wash day, I spray her hair with water and a very small amount of the spray conditioner. I love it!
