We're in Kern County. Bakersfield to be exact.
We had our orientation in April but was at a stand still because our schedules conflicted when our agency had training. We took our classes the first two wks of June and now all we're waiting for is our life scan to come back which should be any day now. At max Monday we will be certified!! This process went way quicker than with the county when we went with them!!!
Our FC criteria is
0-2
Any race
80% sure of RU
Sibling group of 2 ok
Our adopt criteria is
Newborn ONLY
Biracial
Our sw came by our home yesterday (had to make sure we got the escape ladder for upstairs). While here she asked if we'd be interested in 10mo & 2yr old siblings. The FP is elderly & took on too much with the young ones. The parents seem very dedicated to RU. They've went to all classes & visits thus far. So we of course said yes. So now we sit & wait for our live scan....
That's so exciting. I happen to be in the same county! What agency are you with? We went with an FFA due to schedule conflicts as well. It was one week for our first placement call and six weeks until the second placement call which we accepted.
Good luck to you! We are seven months in on our process.

FFA Legacy.
We should be licensed this week....
We're picking up 2 boys Tuesday! Our SW lives right around the corner from us so she stopped by and asked if we'd be willing to take the siblings last week. We want newborns but we think this will be a good start. The parents are on track to RU...not sure how long they've been in the system (fp is having health problems & care for them) I'm hoping it goes well!
We're worried since we took this placement they aren't going to take us seriously about newborn adoption.
I'm nervous. Hoping they fit in & my 2 boys (2yrs & 5yrs) handle it well too.
