I've been fighting for a young girl in South Africa (age 15 now) for a year. She is from an extreme abuse case, and is considered Abandoned. The birth mother keeps finding her and threatening her life.
On top of this, we're in a hurry to find out, medically, what is wrong with her. The doctor's there seem stumped. We know she has Autism, as well as damage (emotional and physical) from the rapes and abuse. But there is more medically wrong with her.
Now here's the issue: the social services there have been dragging their feet. Doing nothing(including telling her it's her own fault and trying to send her back with her birth mom) for her until recently. She finally got a social worker who severed her birth-mother's parental rights. She is currently staying with distant family members. The biological mother continues to go after her, harass her, threaten her life etc though. The family wishes to just send her out to me asap and have the adoption finished state side, so we can protect her as well as get her in with a good doctor here. Is this possible?
