Guess not much news on the Kaz front, eh? :( The last I heard from our agency they are very hopeful, that as soon as they resume from vacation the first of August, that there will be some action! Can we hold on that long?? :) I hear that everyone, but the ones that need to make the final annc., have said they are well pleased and don't have any more questions or concerns so..:moped: let's get going
Was just wondering if any of ya'll have started a blog?
I would really enjoy following your journeys!!
I have started one your welcome to follow, but I will admit up front I am NOT a writer so don't expect a captivating, exciting blog! HA It's really for a diary when we actually get to Kaz, but wanted to get it started now for something to look back on..

Hi, friends--
So, I haven't been on adoption forums since we finalized our adoption from Kazakhstan in 2006. We're planning a return Kaz trip in September, though, b/c we hired an investigator to find our daughter's birth family and want to go meet them.
Anyway: I see that you're wondering about blogs. I wrote exhaustively about our experience (and took tons of photos). Feel free to visit: Fisk Family Adoption | and beyond
My husband made a series of videos documenting our experience: f6sk - YouTube
And, finally, we're selling a children's book as a fundraiser to help with the upcoming Kaz. trip, so I can't resist linking it too: Arina Speaks!: Nicole Plyler Fisk, Beverly Luria, Arina Fisk: 9780615846231: Amazon.com: Books
Just thought I'd see what the state of things are with Kaz. adoptions. We had a wonderful experience and are looking forward to our return trip. I'll be happy to answer questions you may have, as one who has done this before . . . I know how terrible the waiting game is. /sigh
Thank you! I am always looking for new blogs, as right now it's really the only way we can connect with Kazakhstan adoption. My blog is: The Luippolds and I started blogging about our adoption process in December, feel free to check it out!
The waiting game is a long and messy story :( Basically where we are at now is that the Kaz government had requested information on several adopted children who were being mistreated and abused (the details are ugly and tragic-so I'll let you google them rather than go into it here.) But, one of the issues was resolved a month ago, and the other, hopefully last week. So, now we are waiting to hear if they are satisfied and feel comfortable about reopening the US for adoptions. I would love to hear something this week, but am guessing the next week or two is more likely.
Fingers crossed!

Thanks! Yes -- my husband kept himself busy making videos while we were in Kaz. Arina is from Malutka Baby House in Karaganda, Kaz.So sorry to hear of the delays and *fingers crossed* that things will start moving quickly again! We adopted at a fortunate time (2006); our wait from turning in the application to seeing Arina was 8 months. Faster than a pregnancy. Recently, though, our adoption agency closed, no doubt due to the difficult times for international adoption. Which agencies are you all working with now?
They don't let us discuss agencies on the forum, really, these days. We can only send PMs to answer your question -- though your question is fine within the rules.
So someone can post and as what agency people are using, or they can post and say they're interested in a particular agency -- but the answering needs to be by PM.
Don't worry, though, I'll send one your way.
