Seeking any birthfamily of a male born 4/16/1975 in chicago area. Adopted through Luthren Social Services. Of italian, german, swedish decent was told. Also told has older brothers, 2 or 3 and possibly a sister.

From your user name I take it you aren't the male seeking :)
He can apply to Vital Statistics for his original birth certificate now - Illinois changed the laws. That will make searching much easier. If he is hesitant to make direct contact apparently there is a very respected group that has done it for other Illinois adoptees. If you like I can search the forum and find the thread talking out them.

Thanks Dickons. Very observent....yes-the adoptee is my husband. I have printed the form for the unamended birth certificate as well as the forms for the IL registry and am waiting for him to fill them out.i have no issues with making contact once found but thanks for the offer.;)

Birth certificate arrived. Bm: Deborah Ann Phillips Ritter 23
Bf: Donald Albert Ritter 27. Lived in Chicago place of birth is home address. I dis find current address and phone number. They live the next town over as well as an older brother with his ffamily. Made initial call to bm at which time I was hung up on. Giving time to maybe call back however if no call, should I try again or send a letter or what?
