We are in LA County and looking into domestic newborn adoption. We are currently exploring IAC, Vista Del Mar, and attorneys like David Radis. Any feedback on pros/cons of these (or other options in the area) from your experience.
We are also curious to hear from anyone who was proactive about finding birth parents and what the pros and cons were of that vs. simply letting the agency / lawyer find the match.
Another major priority we have is screening for mental/physical health and addiction issues. If anyone has an informative story about this, it would be much appreciated.
I look forward to your PM!

We checked out Bethany to start in La Mirada. They required visitation for all domestic adoptions, which they didn't tell us until we'd already paid the initial fees, which were nonrefundable. Left us with a bad opinion of them. This was at the beginning of our adoption journey before we learned that most places do require that.We ended up working with a facilitator, who charged a ton but got us matched in a month! A Loving Alternative. We found them after working with Adoption Law Group for over a year with little to show for it. We are very satisfied with their legal work, but wouldn't recommend relying on them for a match.
