We are adopting a mixed race baby, American Dominican. I'm curious if anyone has tips on raising a mixed race child with a black parent who is not American. What I mean is that African Americans have a different history and culture than Dominican do. I'm aware that in terms of race, society will not be taking my child's cultural history into consideration, but that seems very alienating to me. Not sure if there's any way counteract that outside the home. Any ideas?
