Hi...
We have a little girl whose 2 and she's currently foster but we will be adopting her. I have a question....when we watch movies or cartoons she can't seem to stop doing something with her hands....picking her teeth...sucking her fingers...picking her nose...etc. I am wondering if there's something she could hold on too while engaging in television without picking her teeth and stuff. I don't want to yell at her because it's obviously something she doesn't realize she's doing. You guys have any suggestions?
Thanks
Sure- anything she can manipulate or fidget with. A kiosk ball, any type of squishy ball, a small stuffed animal with arms/legs she can twiddle, any of those "action figures" that boys play with. (Segmented arms and legs.)
Go to a small, privately-owned toy store, and either look around, or ask for help finding things like that for her age. There are a *ton* of things. Here are toys wih sand inside that can be kind of squished, either cloth or plastic covered I think with a doll's hair, she might absent mindedly rip it out, but that might work, too.

Thank you! I will definitely look into something she can twiddle with while watching tv. The koosh ball might be perfect :-)
