So our home study was selected out of all of the home studies in the giant pile of home studies they were working through.
Actually it was down to us and one other family but when they contacted the family the family said nevermind, not interested.
So now we have a meeting this week with the caseworker and current fp to learn about the kids case and they said "if at that time we still want to move forward, a time will be set up to meet the kids."
It SOUNDS like we have been matched, and the ball is in our court at this point. Is that true? I have no experience with the foster-to-adopt side of things and nothing was taught in our classes.
What can we expect after our meeting this week, as long as we say we still want to move forward?
It sounds like they have selected you and now you are going to disclosure meeting before meeting the children. Or, they will do staff/disclose with you at your meeting and then decision will be made.
How old are the children?

It sounds like a disclosure meeting even though no one has called it that. They told us that if we still want to move forward at that time that's when we'll set up a time to meet with the kids so I would guess a decision on OUR home has already been made and now it's up to us. Kids are newly 2, newly 4, and 5.5.

awesome! are they legally free and are you doing foster to adopt? congratulations!! :)
Foster to adopt but the judge won't TPR until they're in an adoptive home... not much of a chance of the parents getting them back and all relatives have been located and declined or weren't interested in adoption
