I could be getting excited for nothing but I found out my husband and I are being considered for a child in the western part of the USA along with a handful of other families. We have gone through 3 rounds already with this child:) I did find out from my adoption worker that it would involve monthly visits for a while. We live in the eastern part of the USA. I'm a little concerned about the travel costs but really want to do this. Does anyone have any ideas about loans for travel, grants, or airlines that offer discounts for domestic adoption?
I'm a teacher so will have a hard time missing lots of school that is why I have to fly to save time from missing work. I almost wanted to tell my adoption worker that with Christmas Break (two weeks) I could go there and see her daily if chosen. Should I suggest that to my worker? Their meeting is this week when making the final decision.
Thanks so much for any advice that you have to offer. WE also received two other calls this week for adoption in other states as well after hearing nothing for a while. Isn't life like that?

I would think they would be considered adoption costs not donations. Go to IRS.gov and search adoption tax credit. But what about having a ongoing fundraiser to pay for the costs. Surely you have friends who sell scentsy, thirty one, avon, mary kay and the like, ask them each to allow you to host one party and donate to your flight costs.
