Has anyone worked with OC for foster adoption? We submitted for a sibling group. Just wondering if it is a long shot.

About 2 years ago we submitted interest for a child who was a dependent of Orange County. We found on her california kids connection. They responded right away but we were not chosen. It seems as if they have their preferred agencies...and they use them and their pool of families, good luck.

I LOVE OC!!! Our new little one is an OC kiddo and we are in a different county and with an FFA. A lot of counties would not consider us due to our family make up but they were open to us. It took about a month to get matched after we put in our homestudy for him. Then 3 weeks until the telling. We said YES and then a little bit of a wait due to paperwork and vacations of about 2 1/2 months but we were doing visits during that time. Our little guy was legally free so we will be finalizing right at the 6 month mark in a few weeks. OC gave us so much information on our little one compared to SB county with our previous adoption. They have been great to work with and very straight forward which I greatly appreciate. Go for it--maybe a follow up phone call or email to their adoptions department after a couple of weeks to just "check in" to make sure they received your home study.
mcbmom, thank you so much for sharing. I need to hear stories like this. I get so discouraged and often wonder if we will ever get a call back. I also wonder if we are in a pool with hundreds, tens, or just a few lol I will give it a few days and call. We are with an FFA in a central valley county.
It's been a few years, but I fostered from OC. We had our FD for 2 years and all the people we encountered in the OC system were absolutely fantastic. FD was later reunited though :( We eventually adopted a foster through LA County and they were not as helpful (tons of new workers that didn't know much).
