I recently married a man with three beautiful girls who's mother has abandoned them for the 2nd time. No contact for 1 year. How difficult would it be for me to adopt them? Can we file abandonment charges with the court if she is unwilling to give up parental rights? Is this all we would need to do prior to filing adoption paperwork? Please respond.
