Have you all forgotten the point of this web site. I am a prospective adoptive mom, just beginning the process. I cannot believe I am reading some of these messages. You should only be replying if you have something insiteful to say. You should be "helping" people with misconceptions,aiding in this scary process. The point I would like to add to this site is "a mom is a mom", whether they are birth or adoptive. Todays society is supposed to concentrate on providing loving,and stable homes including all parties, as long as it is comfortable for all sides. The part I like about open adoption is the bmom picks the family she thinks is best for HER child. Then a common ground is made based on communication. Don't forget, the adoptive parents are the ones who raise the child, and make the biggest impact on it's life. Having the bmom close by allows the child to have access to those questions they are bound to have later, as well as have someone else to love them. I have yet to meet a bmom who dislike their child.....

I agree. I'm new here and have been reading a number of different topics and boards trying to learn more so I can make an informed decision. The personal attacks are unkind and unnecessary.

& unfortunately these attacks have been going on for a long time now. They have gotten so bad that most of us have had to leave because even our children & our love for our children were being slammed. We were also called liars.
