The point I would like to add to this site is "a mom is a mom", whether they are birth or adoptive. Todays society is supposed to concentrate on providing loving, and stable homes including all parties, as long as it is comfortable for all sides. The part I like about open adoption is the bmom picks the family she thinks is best for HER child. Then a common ground is made based on communication. Don't forget, the adoptive parents are the ones who raise the child, and make the biggest impact on it's life. Having the bmom close by allows the child to have access to those questions they are bound to have later, as well as have someone else to love them. I have yet to meet a bmom who dislike their child.....
