When we were searching for our son's birth mother we kept coming up with nothing. Until finally, I found a phone number. We sat on that for quite some time because ... after all, who wants the shock of a phone call out of the blue?!? Eventually we did call her and the two reunited. But we would have SO wanted to contact her in a way that would give her time to digest the information we were giving her. So my question is this: given the options of a phone call, personal visit from the adoptee, an email, a Facebook message, a phone call from a 3rd party, a letter in the mail ... as birth parents, how would you prefer to be contacted with the surprising news that your child is wanting to reunite?
