Hi again,
So we're doing the ICPC process for my little cousin who lives in NC and we live in SC. Is it normal for both states to do a home study visit? We had one scheduled with NC back in May but she had to reschedule at the last minute due an emergency. We set the tentative date for this coming Friday and she called today to say that she would be coming. Since May and now, SC DSS has contacted and asked to set up a home visit, which will be for next Friday. I don't mind, I just think that it's strange that the NC case worker has to drive an hour in a half when we already have a date set with our local DSS. Thanks.
I don't think that's the case with every state, but not at all uncommon. Both states have to make sure the legal requirements for adoption in their state have been met in order to sign off.
